3: The Roll Over

The Roll Over is the 3rd exercise in the Original 34 series, and the first inversion exercise. It is also the first advanced exercise!

If you have any issues of the spine, neck or shoulders, then please please please make sure you have checked in with your doctor or physio before attempting this.

You have already stretched the back of the body with the previous exercise, the Roll Up, but this time, you will stretch the back of the body in the opposite direction! Not only will you strengthen your lower abdominals, lengthen your back extensor muscles as you roll down, use control to slow your descent and strengthen the back of your arms (triceps) – you will also give your internal organs a jolly good massage!

Transition: lower legs to lie flat out on the mat, arms rested by your sides, ready to do the Leg Circles.
